System Alliance Europe opens up to new partners

Europe’s leading groupage cooperation opens up to the network partners of its members. All cooperation members have joined the newly established cooperative. This creates the conditions for further growth. The goal is to have 100 partners by the end of the year. This aims to close gaps in market coverage.

(Wallenhorst) Europe’s leading groupage cooperation opens up to the network partners of its members. “We will provide partners with quick and easy access to our cooperation,” says the Chairman of the Board of System Alliance Europe (SAE), Oliver Rüter. The focus is on further expanding the infrastructure and SAE service offerings. “With this strategy, we are creating the conditions for continued international growth in the coming years,” Rüter adds.

SAE set the course a few weeks ago by transforming the previously registered partnership (GbR) into a registered cooperative (eG). All existing 45 network partners of the association have now joined the new cooperative as members.

Increased Demand

The new business model has already triggered increased demand in the market: “We are currently in discussions with potential members from all over Europe,” reports Rüter. The goal is to expand the partner network to around 100 member companies by the end of next year.

At the center of the new SAE strategy is the strengthening of network partners. “We are making our cooperation members stars,” Rüter articulates the mission of the alliance. While in the past the focus was more on a common interest, SAE today positions itself as a service provider that promotes the entrepreneurial independence and development of its largely medium-sized member companies.

Access to Digital Applications and Standardized Processes

In the practice of groupage transport, this means: Members of the cooperation can configure their own Europe network of affiliated freight forwarders through SAE, implement their own pricing policy, and score points with customers through international services. “What unites us is the 9-star standard of our services, which applies to all service levels,” says Rüter.

The focal point of the new System Alliance Europe is the cloud-based IT platform Log-IT. It also opens the door to digital applications and standardized processes for third-party partners. Through the platform, logistics providers can manage their European groupage shipments with just one interface with affiliated partners and utilize all future available functions, including continuous shipment tracking and the determination of the estimated time of arrival (ETA).

The Goal is a Tailored Infrastructure

“The further development of the newly established SAE will be driven by the partners themselves. The goal is to create a tailored infrastructure for the respective members and thus enable sustainable growth for all involved. Additionally, SAE is developing innovative IT solutions for its partners to meet new competitors in the market, such as start-ups,” says Jörg Herwig, COO Road & Rail at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, one of the founding members of the cooperation. “In terms of geographical coverage, the ongoing consolidation in the market has posed challenges for many networks in recent years to close gaps. As part of the strategic shift, we are broadening the SAE and allowing multiple partners in one region. This not only gives members the opportunity to choose the right partner but also the security of being able to rely on alternatives,” Herwig further explains.

Adjusted Market Presence

As part of the realignment, System Alliance Europe has also adjusted its market presence. The new logo now features the addition “local stars. supplying europe.” to place the members at the center of the cooperation model. Additionally, the cooperation’s website is currently being revised. In the future, communication on social media will also receive significantly more attention.
