15. June 2021VVA Expands Commissioning Capacities Through Automation
15. June 2021Leadec, a global leader in service specialization throughout the entire lifecycle of factories and their associated infrastructure, relies on the ZetesChronos Proof-of-Delivery solution for seamless documentation of internal transport processes. Within just three weeks, the electronic Proof-of-Delivery solution was implemented on the premises of a customer, an automotive manufacturer, and impressed from the start with an error rate of less than 0.15 percent.
(Bremen) Leadec operates at more than 300 locations across four continents. For nearly 60 years, Leadec has supported its customers in the manufacturing sector: from planning to installation and automation to the operation of factories and buildings. At the Bremen site, Leadec supplies the production of a major automotive manufacturer with spare parts and consumables. The so-called “non-production materials” – short NPM – are stored in special warehouses on the extensive premises and are requested by the individual departments as needed. NPM includes all goods that are essential for the ongoing operation of production but are not a direct part of the end product. The range includes work gloves, tools, and welding robots.
Real-Time Transparency
In addition to reliable and timely delivery, the client requires maximum transparency regarding ongoing and completed processes. The order of delivery points should be accessible online, as well as the time and place of the goods handover. Last but not least, the monthly billing should also be easily traceable and verifiable based on a digital performance statement. Leadec meets these requirements with the help of ZetesChronos. This is an electronic Proof-of-Delivery software for controlling and optimizing pick-up, delivery, and management processes. The solution connects drivers, back-office staff, and logistics management, providing real-time transparency for goods, vehicles, and reusable transport containers. Additionally, customers receive permanent access to the status of their orders through a reading authorization. “ZetesChronos meets all our requirements and is extremely reliable. The implementation took only three weeks, and with the solution, we achieve an error rate of less than 0.15 percent on our orders,” reports Alexander Bölken, who is responsible for logistics at Leadec’s Bremen site.
Smooth Process
Key elements of the solution include the Proof-of-Delivery app and a cloud-based management visibility platform with various dashboards for capturing, planning, monitoring, and analyzing deliveries. Leadec’s dispatchers use this to create loading lists for the trucks. The delivery process begins with uploading the tour data to the drivers’ mobile scanners. Each truck completes up to three tours per day, transporting 50 to 70 reusable containers (WeCos) and pallets, as well as around 120 to 200 packages from the NPM warehouses to the respective departments. After a thorough needs analysis, Zetes was able to offer Leadec a fully integrated solution consisting of software, hardware, and services.
