(Roth near Nuremberg) The processes surrounding the smooth execution of construction projects require a high logistical effort. Construction site management as well as supply and disposal logistics must work closely together. The Rother logistics specialist HEINLOTH – the logistic experts supports its customers precisely in this area: The company’s service portfolio ranges from procurement logistics from various countries to storage, picking, and packaging, all the way to delivery notification. “It is part of our understanding of our work that our customers can handle all necessary processes related to construction site logistics through us,” explains Frederik Pleick, responsible for logistics and solutions at HEINLOTH.
Solutions for Individual Challenges
The offering from HEINLOTH also includes the equipment needed for the delivery and collection of materials. The corporate group has its own tractor-trailers with a total weight of up to 40 tons and on-board forklifts as well as loading cranes that are specifically designed for construction sites, meaning they are “off-road capable.” Additionally, delivery vehicles with a weight of 7.5 tons are part of the fleet. Furthermore, HEINLOTH organizes (mobile) cranes, four-way forklifts, or other special equipment as needed. This enables the company to also carry out transports of, for example, cable drums weighing up to 6 tons. By specializing in southern European traffic, which, alongside northern Europe and Great Britain, is an important pillar of the company, tile transports from core countries like Italy and Spain are also part of the portfolio. In this case, commissions from different suppliers and origins are consolidated and then bundled for direct delivery to the construction site. “Thanks to our long-standing partners, especially in the countries of origin of many building materials, and our own fleet, we can cover the entire range of building material logistics – and especially respond to individual challenges,” says Pleick. An on-site inspection is also planned if difficult conditions are expected.
Efficient Processes in Focus
“For both our customers and us, the efficiency of workflows plays a fundamental role,” says Frederik Pleick. Therefore, at HEINLOTH, it is about the entire value chain and not about “a single link.” The company benefits primarily from the know-how it has acquired over the past decades. Pleick adds: “From administration to operational warehouse staff to drivers, we have specialized employees who have internalized the details and specifics of construction site logistics for years.” Through in-house experience, HEINLOTH developed its own certified concepts for load securing and delivery. The load securing concept for cable drums, for example, is certified by DEKRA. This is “just one of the examples of concepts that have been specifically developed in collaboration with customers as part of the Continuous Improvement Process,” says Pleick. The established standards for all personnel guarantee the high quality of each step. In its own competence centers, which each of the company’s areas Freight, Logistics, and Solutions has, knowledge transfer between the areas takes place. “This continuously increases the quality of our employees and keeps advancing our company as a whole,” says Frederik Pleick.
