21. June 2021About a year ago, the logistics service provider DACHSER began construction of a transshipment warehouse with an adjacent office building in the industrial area of Lohfelden. As of the weekend, the new branch in the northern Hesse economic region of Kassel is now operational. The investment amount for the new location was approximately 25 million euros.
(Kempten/Kassel) “The start of operations for a new logistics facility must be meticulously planned to ensure that our customers’ goods remain in motion. We have succeeded excellently in Kassel,” says Andreas Fritsch, General Manager of the DACHSER Logistics Center Ostwestfalen-Lippe in Bad Salzuflen. Andreas Fritsch takes responsibility for the new location in Kassel Lohfelden as part of the Bad Salzuflen group, with the branch being locally managed by Mathias Oetter. “We are pleased to offer companies around Kassel high-quality logistics services with fast transit times to all of Europe starting now,” Fritsch adds.
Completed General Cargo Network
The new DACHSER location in the center of Germany is conveniently located at the highway interchange of the A7, A44, and A49 motorways. From the new branch in Kassel, all European economic centers can be reached within 24 or 48 hours via the dense DACHSER network.
With the new building in Kassel, DACHSER completes its own general cargo network for industrial goods in Germany. On a plot of approximately 78,000 square meters in the Lohfelden industrial area, a transshipment hall for industrial goods with around 6,400 square meters has been constructed within a year. A total of 78 gates are available for loading and unloading trucks. The hall is complemented by a 2,500 square meter office building. In the medium term, this will create around 200 new jobs.
