23. June 2021The intralogistics system house proLogistik and the Swiss companies Dataphone and XELOG have agreed to merge. Under a new group holding, the partners are pooling their resources and expertise in the field of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) with the aim of developing optimal supply chain solutions for digital transformation in industry, trade, and the service sector.
(Dortmund/Zurich/Rotkreuz) The respective portfolios will also be expanded in the area of hardware & services. The initiative is strengthened by the Berlin-based investment firm Elvaston, which specializes in B2B software. For all three companies, this merger marks an important milestone in their long company history. Together, they are already market leaders for ERP-independent Warehouse Management Systems in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. “Through the vertical merger, we are clearly positioning ourselves in a highly fragmented market while simultaneously expanding our international footprint,” emphasizes Jörg Sänger, CEO of the new group holding.
Best-of-Breed Solutions in Focus
Based on comprehensive, integrated software and hardware competencies, both small and large companies that are replacing systems or introducing a WMS for the first time will be supported in their digital transformation. At the same time, the new holding is well-positioned and strengthens its expertise particularly in the areas of e-commerce, automation, robotics, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and full release capability. “The overarching goal is a consistent best-of-breed approach to provide the best products and solutions along the supply chain for every industry,” explains Dr. Felix Speerli, future CPO of the group holding. Initial sales activities in the Benelux countries have already begun.
Foundation for Further Growth Laid
The new alliance, which is already a WMS market leader in the food and retail sectors, currently generates group revenue of around 40 million euros, records approximately 1,500 WMS installations, and employs more than 330 staff. All partners remain independent companies and form a broad branch network: Through the merger with LogiSoft-S GmbH, proLogistik GmbH + Co KG is already represented in Dortmund, Pinneberg, and Heilbronn. Additionally, XELOG has its headquarters in the Swiss Rotkreuz, from where the entire Switzerland and southern Germany are covered. Dataphone AG operates, in addition to its headquarters in Zurich, sales locations in Vienna, Moscow, Mexico, Hagerstown in the USA, and Toronto in Canada.
