23. June 2021On the way to more sustainable mobility, LNG is one of the most important alternatives to conventional fuels. Compared to diesel, freight forwarders and logistics companies can reduce their CO2 emissions by up to 20 percent by using LNG. Therefore, the European mobility service provider DKV is pushing the expansion of its LNG supply network.
(Ratingen) DKV thus offers the largest brand-independent LNG filling station network, covering more than 50 percent of all LNG stations in Europe. The latest countries to join are Austria, Sweden, and Finland. “LNG is becoming increasingly important. In times of the energy transition, we want to become ‘Lead in Green’ – the leading provider of sustainable supply solutions for the transport industry,” says Sven Mehringer, Managing Director Energy & Vehicle Services at DKV Mobility. To meet the growing demand for alternative fuels, DKV connects 5,000 filling stations annually, focusing on multi-energy filling stations that also offer alternative fuels such as LNG, CNG, LPG, or hydrogen. In February 2021, DKV also launched its Green Mission and announced that it aims to become a climate-positive company by 2023 and reduce the carbon intensity of its customers’ fleets by 30 percent by 2030.
