Jun 30, 2021 at 1:24 PMDRONAMICS, the leading developer and operator of cargo drones, is collaborating with the global full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics to develop a groundbreaking new transport service for cross-border transport of time-sensitive goods. As part of the cooperation, Hellmann plans to offer the first routes with unmanned cargo drones from DRONAMICS as early as next year.
(Osnabrück) Initial flights will be offered in the pilot region of Europe, as the legal framework within the European Union allows for cross-border unmanned flights. DRONAMICS aims to be the first company to obtain an operating license for international flights in Europe, enabling Hellmann to offer its customers very fast intra-European transport at competitive prices starting in 2022. Currently, the two companies are jointly developing initial routes that are to be tested for Hellmann’s customers early next year and offered as an on-demand shipping solution.
Market Segments Spare Parts Logistics and Pharmaceuticals
“The partnership with DRONAMICS allows us to offer our customers innovative and tailored solutions. This is particularly true for growing market segments such as spare parts logistics and e-commerce, but also for areas where a seamless cold chain is required, such as pharmaceuticals and healthcare. With an unmatched range of up to 2,500 km and a cargo capacity of 350 kg, DRONAMICS offers a same-day drone delivery service on the middle mile, making it a true ‘game changer’ for logistics,” says Jan Kleine-Lasthues, Chief Operating Officer Airfreight, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to work with a leading logistics provider like Hellmann: a company with a global network and an innovation strategy aimed at shaping the supply chain of the future. Collaborating with carriers is an essential part of our vision to make same-day deliveries a reality,” says Svilen Rangelov, CEO and co-founder of DRONAMICS.
