3. July 2021Starting July 1, Werner Dettenthaler will take over the regional management of land transport in Germany at the logistics service provider Gebrüder Weiss. He is expected to drive the growth objectives of the Austrian logistics group in Germany. Dettenthaler previously worked for many years at the Geis Group in similar roles.
(Nuremberg/Lauterach) Werner Dettenthaler (54) will assume the position of Regional Manager for Germany in the land transport sector at Gebrüder Weiss starting July 1, 2021. “With Werner Dettenthaler, we have brought on board an expert in the transport and logistics business who will support us in achieving our growth targets in Germany with his excellent industry knowledge,” said Jürgen Bauer, a member of the management board of Gebrüder Weiss. He succeeds long-time Gebrüder Weiss manager Anton Hagg, who passed away last year.
Extensive experience in the industry
For his new role, the native Franconian brings over 30 years of professional experience in leadership positions at renowned transport companies. Most recently, Werner Dettenthaler was part of the management team at the internationally operating Greis Group.
Gebrüder Weiss has a dense network of its own land transport locations in southern Germany – from Esslingen, Aldingen, Lindau, Memmingen, Nuremberg to Passau. In addition to groupage and direct transport by truck, the service provider organizes rail transport and develops individual logistics solutions for its customers. Approximately 100,000 square meters of storage and transshipment area are available for this purpose. In total, Gebrüder Weiss employs 740 staff in land transport in Germany.
