(Filderstadt/Pasewalk) The shelving manufacturer TOPREGAL celebrates the groundbreaking for its new plant in the Berlin-Szczecin industrial park. 30 jobs are being created at the border with Poland.
“This is an important contribution to strengthening the labor market in the region,” said the Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor and Health Harry Glawe on site. “The decision for Pasewalk shows that the location is economically attractive. Every new settlement for Vorpommern is a fundamental contribution to strengthening the local economy. It is particularly important that more industrial jobs continue to be created. Pasewalk is also considered a gateway to Western Europe for Polish companies. The location is also attractive for the logistics sector; the city is essentially the northern German hub between Berlin and Szczecin.”
Processing and Refinement of Heavy-Duty Shelves
TOPREGAL GmbH is a family-owned company operating throughout Europe, based in Filderstadt (near Stuttgart). In Pasewalk, TOPREGAL is building a new production facility for the processing and refinement of heavy-duty shelves. “On-site, the entire range of the company’s portfolio as well as services will be offered,” Glawe continued. These include production and final assembly, painting, maintenance and repair, goods handling (logistics), and a regionally operating service team. To implement the project, it is planned to construct four steel framework halls with concrete supports. The halls will provide a usable area of approximately 19,500 square meters. In addition, an office complex is to be built.

Further Expansion of Commercial Areas in Vorpommern
The Ministry of Economic Affairs supports the development of the Berlin – Szczecin industrial park with the first construction phase (= 50.2 hectares/total area of the industrial park: 156 hectares) with around 12.2 million euros from the joint task “Improvement of the regional economic structure” (GRW). The total costs amount to approximately 13 million euros. “The infrastructure measure is to be completed by 2023. Investors are still very welcome. The investment shows that our intensive efforts to promote industrial and commercial locations in Vorpommern are paying off and that progress is being made in the region. The development of the Berlin – Szczecin industrial park creates attractive commercial spaces. The immediate location in the catchment area of Berlin, as well as the proximity to Scandinavia and the neighboring Poland, offers very good opportunities for further settlements. Vorpommern is a business-friendly region with excellent investment conditions,” emphasized Minister of Economic Affairs Glawe on site.
Ministry of Economic Affairs Supports Locally
The total investment for the investment project of TOPREGAL GmbH in Pasewalk amounts to approximately 18.3 million euros. The Ministry of Economic Affairs supports the project with funds from the joint task “Improvement of the regional economic structure” (GRW) in conjunction with funds from the “European Regional Development Fund” (ERDF) amounting to approximately 3.9 million euros.
Economic Development Company Accompanies Settlements
The commercial area in Pasewalk has undergone a corresponding repositioning towards the industrial park “Berlin – Szczecin” over several years on the initiative of the state government through Invest in MV. The establishment of TOPREGAL GmbH is accompanied by the state economic development company Invest in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern GmbH (Invest in MV). The task of this company is to support businesses that want to invest and expand in the northeastern federal state.
