14. July 2021Garbe Industrial Real Estate GmbH is further expanding its presence in Baden-Württemberg. In the Stuttgart metropolitan region, the real estate specialist has acquired a plot of land measuring approximately 100,000 square meters. It is located in Holzgerlingen (Böblingen district) and is partially developed. A hall area of 16,000 m2 is initially available.
(Hamburg/Holzgerlingen) The existing building has a total hall area of 16,000 square meters. These will be offered for rent on the market first. Concepts for the development areas are currently being coordinated. “With these properties, we aim to attract medium-sized companies from the sectors of commerce, light industrial, and production,” explains Jan Dietrich Hempel. Both the existing spaces and the future new buildings are suitable for regionally and nationally active companies looking to expand or establish themselves in Holzgerlingen.
Politics Welcomes the Decision
Mayor Ioannis Delakos welcomes the decision of the Hamburg project developer to invest in Holzgerlingen. “This will create further attractive settlement opportunities in our city. Garbe Industrial Real Estate’s commitment is a positive sign for our economic location – especially in such a challenging time.”
The location is characterized by its central position in the Stuttgart metropolitan region. It is only about seven kilometers to Böblingen, the medium-sized center Sindelfingen is ten kilometers away, and the state capital Stuttgart is 30 kilometers away. The plot of land acquired by Garbe Industrial Real Estate is connected to the A8 motorway via the federal road 464 and the A81 motorway. This connects the location westward to Karlsruhe and eastward to Stuttgart Airport, Ulm, and Munich. Additionally, there is direct access to public transport.
Third Location in Baden-Württemberg
Holzgerlingen is already the third location in Baden-Württemberg where Garbe Industrial Real Estate has engaged within a year. In Meßkirch (Sigmaringen district), the Hamburg project developer has built a distribution center for Amazon. A similar property is currently under construction for the online retailer in Giengen an der Brenz (Heidenheim district). Additionally, another property with a total area of 23,000 square meters is being developed there without fixed rental commitments, which will be completed by June 2022. “Thanks to the high economic strength and the balanced mix of global market leaders as well as strong small and medium-sized enterprises, Baden-Württemberg is highly attractive for us as a project developer and investor,” says Jan Dietrich Hempel.
