(Dessau-Roßlau/Dresden) Following the recommissioning of the Industrial Port of Roßlau on July 1, 2021, a new, powerful crane is now available for cargo handling. The mobile Liebherr crawler crane LR 1300 can lift piece weights of up to 50 tons. If necessary, the load capacity can be increased to 300 tons. The port crane was delivered by Carl Beutlhauser.
Best Conditions for Future Requirements
In a four-year construction period, the port of Roßlau was sustainably expanded with a quay wall, track systems, and technical equipment, and the access track to the port was upgraded. A new port crane is now also available for handling agricultural and forestry products, metals, raw materials, and containers. The old rail-bound crane “Fritz” was dismantled and scrapped as part of the infrastructure measures.
“With the modernized port facilities and the new crane, the trimodal port of Roßlau offers the best conditions to meet the demands of the port-related economy in the future and to ensure a powerful transport connection for the region,” says IHR Managing Director Gunto Mörer.
