BIEK Welcomes the New Law on Autonomous Driving
2. August 2021Jungheinrich Automates Production for Audi Hungaria
2. August 2021leogistics GmbH, a leading provider of digital and automated yard management, is developing a highly innovative yard management platform with myleo / yard. Thanks to a new partnership with Quuppa, companies can now precisely identify the location of their resources at any time, down to the meter.
(Hamburg) “The yard management of the future is digitalized and automated. To meet our goal of making myleo / dsc the leading supply chain management platform, we are now enabling not only asset tracking with Quuppa but also collaborating with all connected business partners and systems for optimized control of various factory processes,” says André Käber, CEO of leogistics GmbH.
Valuable Data on Equipment Locations
It is often unclear where equipment or loading aids are currently located on the factory premises or in the warehouse. The intelligent Quuppa Locating System™ is a powerful solution based on Bluetooth® Direction Finding and proprietary algorithms to track objects and devices in near real-time with an accuracy of less than one meter. Quuppa is a leading provider of Real-Time Locating Systems (RTLS) with over 2,600 implementations in more than 55 countries and over 200 partners worldwide. From the information on how tracked objects move across the site and how long they stay in specific locations, the Quuppa Positioning Engine creates detailed location profiles. With the smart tools and apps from myleo / yard, the yard management module of myleo / dsc, companies can use these to identify process bottlenecks and alleviate critical workflows in factory logistics. “We are excited about this partnership and look forward to expanding our business across a variety of industries together with leogistics,” says Thomas Hasselman, Chief Marketing Officer at Quuppa.
Automated Yard of the Future with Real-Time Data
The new partner solution allows for the digitalization of the physical world. Through this approach, leogistics, together with partners like Quuppa, creates an ecosystem that enables customers to understand, improve, and automate their processes in the shortest possible time. This is achieved through intuitive workflows and flexible control options in the cloud solution. The efficient use of MAFIs, transfer vehicles, or forklifts through continuous route optimization and order assignment are just a few examples of the numerous optimization and automation possibilities based on real-time data within myleo / dsc. Various operational apps, seamless integration with Quuppa, and not least the deep process know-how of leogistics GmbH support this. The myleo / dsc not only offers extensive and pre-configured business processes and reporting but is also very easy to integrate into system landscapes and partner solutions, as well as to customize or expand. This allows for extremely short project durations – even with complex requirements, the initial investment regarding implementation costs is minimized.
Track and Manage Equipment, Containers, and More
The Quuppa tags can be attached to any objects such as forklifts or various loading aids like IBCs, barrels, or pallets and work reliably even under challenging conditions. Once installed, the system typically requires no physical maintenance and sends a notification if it needs attention. Thus, companies using reusable containers can achieve high process and location-based transparency over their load carriers with the RTLS technology from Quuppa and the new container management solution myleo / empties. The new module of myleo / dsc offers a clear management of loading aids in the form of container accounts, which can be transparently balanced among supply chain partners. Based on geofences and precise location tracking, automated bookings in the yard are also possible.
Smart Container Management through Sensors and IoT
Asset tracking and container management offer enormous potential for IoT projects. In the future, devices or containers equipped with intelligent sensors will independently report their content, location, and environmental influences, thus making a valuable contribution to quality management. When a container is filled at the supplier, the integrated sensor sends data to myleo / dsc. This includes the unique ID number, location, timestamp, content, fill level, as well as temperature and humidity of the environment. If the container detects harmful environmental influences during transport, it issues a corresponding warning. This allows for better monitoring of the quality of goods during transport.
