9. August 2021Arvato Supply Chain Solutions has announced a new strategic collaboration with ChannelAdvisor Corporation (NYSE: ECOM) today. ChannelAdvisor Corporation is a leading provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions that helps brands and retailers increase their global sales. Arvato’s global logistics fulfillment network opens the door to new markets.
(Gütersloh) “Online business is booming. Brands are no longer just selling products through their own online shops, but increasingly through various large international as well as country- and industry-specific marketplaces. This is part of their multichannel strategy to attract new customers worldwide and thereby increase sales,” says Ricardo Dittmer, Digital Officer Consumer Products at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions. However, each marketplace brings its own requirements regarding connectivity, provided product information, and logistics fulfillment. Dittmer explains: “We simplify this integration for our customers. By collaborating with ChannelAdvisor, we can offer them a connection to all marketplaces with a single integration. Regardless of how far the companies have already come – we can support them together on the path to a comprehensive marketplace strategy.”
Philip Morris is the first customer to take advantage of this opportunity. “Future-oriented and scalable processes are essential to be flexibly present with our products where customers are looking for them,” explains Steffen Knör, E-Commerce Manager at Philip Morris GmbH. “Thanks to the successful technical integration between Arvato and ChannelAdvisor and the close collaboration, we now have additional options available.”
Robust and Comprehensive Automation and Analytics Tools
ChannelAdvisor’s robust and comprehensive suite of automation and analytics tools is designed to support brands and retailers in transforming and optimizing their product data as well as managing inventory, pricing, and customer orders through a central e-commerce platform. Through consolidated management, data is synchronized across various marketplaces. This allows Arvato’s customers to improve their online performance and avoid overselling.
“Brands and retailers have complex business needs that require turnkey solutions to optimize day-to-day operations and accelerate growth in e-commerce,” explains Derek Conlin, Senior Director Global Business Development at ChannelAdvisor. “Through ChannelAdvisor’s platform, brands and retailers can access the desired sales channels, manage them efficiently, and handle fulfillment accordingly. We are excited to unlock scalable solutions for Arvato’s customers, giving them a competitive advantage.”
Linking Additional Services
The integration of ChannelAdvisor with Arvato Supply Chain Solutions is achieved through a plug-and-play solution for fulfillment, allowing additional services, such as payment processing or customer service, to be linked. Additionally, Arvato supports all marketplace-specific fulfillment requirements, such as individual shipping specifications and return procedures, up to Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime. Arvato continuously adapts to the applicable marketplace requirements, ensuring marketplace-compliant processing.
In light of the recent disruptions in the industry, manufacturers and retailers have the opportunity to leverage this new strategic alliance to reach more customers and fulfill their own fulfillment promises.
“Arvato’s powerful global logistics and fulfillment solution can help brands and retailers strengthen their supply chain processes and expand internationally,” Conlin adds. “We look forward to providing sellers with an advantage over the competition.”
Supply Chain Processes and Product Updates
Arvato Supply Chain Solutions provides its customers access to an international network of 85 distribution centers with more than two million square meters of warehouse space. All processes required for managing and handling complex global supply chains of internationally operating companies are taken care of there.
ChannelAdvisor, the world’s leading channel management provider, performs an average of more than two billion product updates daily and captures approximately 330 million new marketplace listings in its system every day (as of November 2020).
