30. August 2021High-profile lectures and impulses along the value chain and a workshop with the major automotive manufacturers in Central and Eastern Germany at the ACOD Congress on September 1, 2021, in Dresden. The demand among participants is very high and has been fully booked since the end of July.
(Leipzig/Dresden) The transformation of the automotive industry is the focus of the joint event of the ACOD Congress and the Central German Logistics Forum on September 1. Leading industry representatives will gather at the Transparent Factory of Volkswagen in Dresden to discuss the increasingly popular electromobility, the growing flexibility of production and logistics, and the future of work. The organizers are the Automotive Cluster East Germany and the Central German Logistics Network.
Currently, about 20 percent of newly registered cars in Germany are electric vehicles. Central and Eastern Germany have increasingly developed into a center for electromobility in recent years. Leading manufacturers in the industry, such as Volkswagen in Zwickau, Porsche and BMW in Leipzig, Mercedes in Ludwigsfelde, and soon Tesla near Berlin, have positioned the automotive industry in the region at the forefront of the transformation process technologically. The accompanying changes in production and logistics, as well as the resulting opportunities and challenges, will be discussed on September 1 at the ACOD Congress and Central German Logistics Forum in Dresden.
Electric Drive is Becoming Increasingly Important in Logistics
Electric drive is also making its way into logistics, particularly in delivery vehicles for last-mile transport. Digital platforms and other ideas for cross-provider collaboration and efficiency improvements in urban transport are also on the agenda. Not least, a dedicated session will focus on the human aspect in this process. Qualifications and ergonomic working conditions are at the center of this discussion.
ACOD Managing Director Dr. Jens Katzek sees the transformation of the industry in full swing: “Further changes are coming our way that we need to prepare for. Therefore, a common platform for exchange and discussion, such as the one we provide with the ACOD Congress and the Central German Logistics Forum, is very important.” Toralf Weiße, Chairman of the Board of the Central German Logistics Network, adds: “The dual event in Dresden provides the perfect framework to further promote dialogue between logistics and the automotive industry across sectors.”
