2. September 2021Since its founding in 2016, LogCoop Lagernetzwerk GmbH & Co. KG has secured contracts with a total volume of around 40 million euros for its members or has significantly contributed to their acquisition. The goal has since been to actively support medium-sized companies in the logistics sector in pooling capacities and resources.
(Düsseldorf) Today, the LogCoop warehousing network is the largest of its kind in Europe: Almost 80 logistics service providers operate 200 warehouse locations in 13 countries, covering a total area of 4.1 million square meters.
“Profitable networking – with this objective, we set out five years ago. Given the volume of contracts we have facilitated for our members, averaging eight million euros per year, we can now report: Goal achieved,” summarizes Marc Possekel, founder and managing director of LogCoop Lagernetzwerk GmbH & Co. KG. Among the facilitated transactions were around ten large and numerous medium and small projects from industrial and commercial enterprises. The clients operate in sectors such as eCommerce, building materials, food, hazardous materials, FMCG, and automotive, distributing their products both through brick-and-mortar stores and online.
Diverse Services for Members
The warehousing network not only facilitates warehousing logistics projects within the membership and existing shipper contacts but also engages in a variety of online and social media activities and third-party cooperation partners, such as lagerflaeche.de and warehousing.online. Additionally, employees advise them on customer acquisition, customer outreach, operational personnel recruitment, real estate issues, as well as tenders and inquiries, and also provide operational support in various process steps and process optimizations that arise in the different projects.
Further opportunities to support members arise from the interplay between the warehousing network and the logistics cooperation LogCoop, to which it belongs. Including the warehousing network members, the rapidly growing cooperation currently pools the capacities of 225 freight forwarders and logistics service providers across Europe and exchanges know-how. In collaboration with transport partners, the warehousing network can therefore also create logistics solutions that extend across the entire supply chain, such as in distribution and procurement logistics.
Opening New Paths and Opportunities
“Unique and special is also the entire area of know-how transfer, training offers, and support of the warehousing network,” says Possekel. Regular online training sessions are offered, for example, on calculations and forward-looking innovations in warehousing logistics, as well as warehouse tours of other members. For instance, members can learn from others during tours under the motto “eFulfillment for non-eFulfillers” and avoid mistakes when entering the online logistics business.
For 2021, an innovative exchange group in the field of warehousing logistics is also planned to achieve improvements for members in terms of costs, structures, processes, and organizational optimizations. “However, achieving our goal does not mean that we will now rest on our laurels. On the contrary. We will continue to do everything we can to open new paths and opportunities for our members,” says Possekel.
