3. September 2021The Raben Group has acquired Luible Logistik GmbH from Leipheim. The European logistics service provider is thus expanding its general cargo network in the German market and strengthening its position in combined rail-road transport. With this merger, Raben takes over the Luible branch in Upper Swabia’s Leipheim as well as all 130 employees.
(Mannheim/Leipheim) The family-owned company Luible Logistik GmbH has a strategically excellent location near the highway hubs A7 and A8, as well as in an important economic region. Luible specializes in international general cargo and groupage transport. In addition, the freight forwarder organizes the distribution of goods that require special care, such as hazardous materials.
“I am very pleased that we can expand our network with Luible, especially since the first contact actually came about unexpectedly. During the Corona period, in a phase with high shipment volumes, Luible spontaneously helped us in a challenging time. This led to the first discussions, which then intensified,” says Raben Managing Director Ewald Raben.
New Opportunities in Germany and Europe
Luible has been on the market since 1949 and has been operating under its current name for six years since the merger of four freight forwarders. The company offers road and rail transport as well as contract logistics. It generates an annual revenue of 14 million euros. Its own fleet of 55 vehicles is state-of-the-art and complies with the European emission standard 6. With the integration into the Raben Group, customers now benefit from a significantly more powerful and larger network with 39 branches across Germany. More than 10,000 employees work for Raben across Europe. The group also has 8,500 transport vehicles and a storage capacity of around 1.15 million square meters.
“The agreement with Raben offers us new opportunities in Germany and Europe. We made the decision within the entire family circle,” says René Mick, Managing Partner of Luible GmbH.
Raben Continues Its Growth Strategy Consistently
Raben is expanding its general cargo network in Germany with the acquisition of Luible and is gaining a top location with the branch in the metropolitan region of Upper Swabia. The European logistics service provider has dynamically invested in the German market in recent years and has consistently implemented its long-term strategy of building its own independent general cargo network.
