14. September 2021With a new feature in our DAKO drive app, we aim to make the legally required departure control easier for freight carriers and transport companies. This can now be carried out completely digitally, from the inspection to damage recording, including photos, to the automatically transmitted digital inspection report.
(Jena) A departure control before starting a journey is not only legally required for trucks and delivery vehicles, but also contributes to a trouble-free journey and thus less stress. With the DAKO drive app, companies can now enable their drivers to carry out the departure control entirely digitally.
Security and Benefits for Entrepreneurs and Drivers
The new feature is based on the DGUV principle 314-002 and can be used for all vehicles from cars to trucks. Drivers receive a clear checklist in the app, tailored to the vehicle type, allowing them to perform the departure control easily and quickly. All vehicle areas, such as lighting, braking system, and chassis, are clearly outlined and can be checked off one by one.
Deficiencies can be documented in detail, including comments and photos that drivers can take directly through the app. The report is automatically transmitted to the web platform TachoWeb. This way, fleet managers have the documentation of the departure controls at their fingertips at all times. Additionally, they can export the damage reports as PDFs and send them directly to the workshop if a deficiency needs to be addressed.
With the digital departure control, we want to provide our customers and partners with a tool that enables a legally compliant and time-saving execution as well as clean documentation of this obligation. Furthermore, the app aims to help avoid errors caused by manually filled paper lists, which can be easily lost and often lead to chaotic paperwork.
Development Close to the User
To ensure that the new feature is closely aligned with the everyday business of transport companies and freight carriers, we involved several DAKO customers from the very beginning in the entire development process. This approach is part of the agile working method with which DAKO aims to better meet the needs of users. The companies, a cross-section from various industries and company sizes, were able to incorporate their requirements, provided feedback at different development stages, and tested the departure control directly in their daily business. Among the participating companies was also mba Logistik & Transport GmbH, who are convinced of the support provided by the new feature:
“Our drivers are getting along very well with the digital departure control. And finally, the flood of messages and images that used to reach us through various channels has come to an end,” said Katharina Bostancioglu, Managing Director of mba Logistik & Transport GmbH.
The digital departure control is initially available in German, English, and Swedish, but is expected to be translated into additional languages in the future. At NUFAM from September 30 to October 3, visitors can learn about the new feature and other products directly at the DAKO booth in Hall 3, Stand B 312.
