24. September 2021DHL Paket increases package prices for its business customers starting January 1, 2022. Rising transport costs and the expansion of infrastructure make this price adjustment necessary. The price increase particularly affects heavy package shipments over 20 kilograms. By the end of 2023, the parcel station network is set to expand to 12,500 machines.
(Bonn) DHL Paket will increase prices for its business customers starting January 1, 2022. On the one hand, rising transport and personnel costs necessitate this price adjustment. On the other hand, Deutsche Post DHL Group continues to invest heavily in expanding its infrastructure to support the growth of its business customers and to handle the increasing package volumes as reliably as before. Examples include the expansion of the parcel center in Aschheim near Munich and the installation of new sorting technology for goods-bearing shipments in both letter and parcel centers.
In addition, the company is focusing on even more sustainable transportation and delivery of shipments, including the construction of CO2-neutral facilities and the deployment of thousands more electric vehicles and e-trikes in the coming years. Currently, Post & Paket Deutschland already delivers CO2-free in almost half of all delivery districts using e-mobility and emits significantly less CO2 per package shipment than competitors. The continuous expansion of digital services is also being pursued by Deutsche Post DHL Group with the goal of allowing customers to send, receive, and track their packages as conveniently as possible. By the end of 2023, the company will also expand its parcel station network to around 12,500 machines.
Investments in All Areas
“We want to provide our business customers with the best quality from pickup to delivery of packages. To finance the extensive investments in all areas of our service, an increase in business customer prices is necessary. With this step, we are now setting the framework for the next year, so our customers have early planning security,” says Ole Nordhoff, Marketing Director at Post & Paket Deutschland of Deutsche Post DHL Group.
The price adjustments effective January 1, 2022, apply to both business customers with list prices and those with individually agreed conditions. The price increase particularly affects heavy package shipments over 20 kilograms, which are associated with significantly higher effort in sorting and delivery.
Increase Not for Private Customers
The increases relate to the DHL package shipping of business customers and do not affect the national and international DHL Express business. DHL business customers will be individually informed about the changes. The prices for DHL package shipping by private customers remain unchanged.
