Benetton Relies on Dematic’s Automation Solution
27. September 2021The TradeTech company Nexxiot, which optimizes data usage and the degree of digitization in logistics and transport, acquires a majority stake in the Swedish technology company MOST. The acquisition solidifies Nexxiot’s position as a global leader in TradeTech for freight and expands activities in Scandinavia.
(PresseBox: Stockholm/Zürich) With the acquisition of MOST, Nexxiot significantly strengthens its position as a leading innovator in TradeTech within the IoT freight segment. Nexxiot serves its customers in over 160 countries and is one of the key providers of AI-driven data solutions, with a rapidly growing number of clients from the logistics sector.
Stefan Kalmund, CEO of Nexxiot, comments on the motives for the acquisition: “Integrating MOST’s solutions into our product offering brings enormous benefits to Nexxiot’s global customers. They will gain unprecedented insights into their goods and movements. These insights will undoubtedly lead to positive outcomes in business planning, decision-making, and cost savings on a larger scale.”
The solution combines Nexxiot’s solar-powered sensors and interface technology, which track freight movement and efficiency through the company’s logistics cloud, with MOST’s sensors that monitor humidity, temperature, light, and security of goods in containers. This enables Nexxiot to offer its customers complete transparency regarding the status of their freight shipments around the globe.
TradeTech Gains Importance in the Supply Chain
The advancements of TradeTech in supply chain management are becoming increasingly significant, especially as ports worldwide are overwhelmed. This leads to delays in the delivery of essential goods and costs the industry and consumers billions of dollars due to higher expenses in the supply chain.
Kalmund notes in this context: “Our expanded range of features distinguishes Nexxiot’s solutions from all other providers in the market. Our services provide immediate real-time alerts about the cargo status from inside a container – unlike so-called data logging systems that only send data when a container has arrived at its destination. Aside from the benefits for our customers, these advancements have far-reaching implications regarding ‘Know-Your-Cargo’ standards, improved safety measures through fire and accident prevention, and supporting shippers in combating illegal trade.”
