BOXBAY Container Handling System Proves Market Readiness
27. September 2021The Swiss cult drink Vivi Kola has been around since 1938. Its manufacturer has always been focused on sustainability, and now it is delivered with a CNG-Iveco. The remaining CO2 emissions are offset through the organization Solafrica, which finances solar systems in Cameroon, the country of origin of the kola nut.
(Zurich) The Swiss traditional brand Vivi Kola is alive and has been making a comeback since June 2010, with great respect for the long and proud history of the cult drink. Christian Forrer from Eglisau relaunched the somewhat forgotten Swiss kola from 1938. During the opening celebration, his store was overwhelmed, and 2500 bottles were sold in just two hours. Ten years later, over 1000 gastronomy businesses, as well as the major distributors Migros and Spar, have included Vivi Kola in their offerings.
Sustainability from A to Z
With passion, the team around founder Christian Forrer works to ensure that the cult drink is produced 100 percent in Switzerland and, above all, as sustainably as possible. They always go the so-called “extra mile.” The extra mile to the origin of the ingredients, the extra mile for constant innovation of the drinks, and the extra mile for creating a sustainable company. Now, the Vivi Kola team is taking another step and delivering the popular soft drink almost CO2-neutral. This is made possible by a new Iveco truck with CNG drive. All remaining CO2 emissions from Vivi Kola have been offset through the organization Solafrica since May 2019. With the support of Solafrica, Vivi Kola finances solar energy systems and improves living conditions in Cameroon, the country of origin of its kola nut.
