The Wurfel Polska sp. z o.o., a subsidiary of Würfel Holding, is investing in new vehicles for jumbo swap body transports. The transport company relies on motor vehicles from DAF with a BDF structure from SDG Modultechnik GmbH. The trailers and swap bodies for transloading come from Gniotpol Trailers sp. z o.o.
(Bremerhaven/Szczecin) “With the decision to have our own fleet combined with well-trained drivers, we want to respond more quickly to customer requests and establish the swap body in the Polish transport market,” explains Karim Gebara, Managing Director of Wurfel Polska.
The collaboration between SDG and Würfel Holding has existed for over 10 years. All vehicles of Würfel Spedition GmbH are equipped with structures from SDG. The Polish subsidiary is now continuing this tradition. The Polish vehicle construction specialist Gniotpol Trailers from Malnia, southeast of Wroclaw, is also one of the proven suppliers of Würfel Spedition due to its good quality and adaptability to customer requirements.
The jumbo swap bodies built for Wurfel Polska feature a drive-over ramp for transloading. This allows both jumbo swap bodies of a vehicle to be loaded or unloaded simultaneously while only occupying a single gate at the ramp. Swap bodies with a drive-over ramp reduce waiting times at the ramp and save valuable parking space on the premises. The driver parks the vehicle at the ramp, and loading or unloading can be carried out without uncoupling the trailer.
About 1,000 Jumbo Swap Bodies
Since the company has nearly 1,000 jumbo swap bodies, customized swap body concepts can also be offered. The swap body serves as a “flexible” picking warehouse for production companies and construction site supplies. Loading or unloading is possible without a carrier vehicle, thus minimizing the customer’s own storage areas. The company Wurfel Polska, founded in February 2020, is certified according to DIN ISO 9001 and 14001 and is an approved waste disposal specialist.
The innovative jumbo swap bodies co-developed by Würfel offer a height of 3.00 m and a width of 2.48 m, providing a total of 19 pallet spaces. This inventory is maintained and modernized through regular investment programs.
