6. October 2021The Hamburg Port and Logistics AG (HHLA) presents numerous innovative projects at the ITS World Congress taking place in Hamburg from October 11 to 15. Digital solutions for logistics will be showcased, emphasizing the company’s claim to be the gateway to the future.
The ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) World Congress is the largest and most internationally significant event for intelligent mobility and the digitalization of transport. HHLA is represented as part of the joint stand “Gateway Hamburg” in Hall B4 (Ground Floor, Stand 230).
HHLA CEO Angela Titzrath: “Hamburg is one of the most innovative metropolises in Europe when it comes to future-proof logistics and mobility. HHLA makes an important contribution to this. We have been a start-up for 137 years and have shaped numerous technical developments in port handling, such as the first largely automated container handling facility. As a leading European logistics company, we are today an important driver in the development of digital solutions for the future of mobility. We look forward to giving visitors to the ITS Congress an insight into our work.”
HHLA is represented at the ITS World Congress with the following projects:
Hyperport Cargo Solutions: HHLA and the American company HyperloopTT are jointly working on a technology to transport containers using magnetic levitation technology through a tube.
HHLA Sky Control Center: This mature product enables the complete control and execution of globally scalable drone services.
FRESH: The research project examines how the battery capacities of automated container transporters (AGVs) can be integrated as flexible storage into the German energy grid and contribute to grid stability in power supply.
Artificial Intelligence Stacks Containers: Self-learning software “agents” are expected to assist control systems at HHLA terminals in the future in assigning optimal storage locations for containers.
COOKIE: Artificial intelligence is expected to help check for damages to containers, allowing for quicker access to empty containers. This research project is an important contribution to “just-in-time” logistics in the maritime industry.
Additionally, HHLA provides information about its hydrogen initiative. The project “Hamburg TruckPilot,” developed jointly by HHLA and MAN, which tests automation solutions for road transport, will be presented at the MAN stand in Exhibition Hall B2.
Modility and Bionic Productions Also Present
HHLA’s subsidiaries modility and Bionic Productions are also represented at the fair with their forward-looking products. Sustainable logistics in operation at HHLA can be experienced during the “Logistics Experience” bus tour through the port.
Not only is the HHLA expert team available at the company’s stand for industry professionals, but all visitors are also warmly welcomed to gather information on Thursday, October 14, during the “Public Day” at the fair.
