Scandlines Prepares Next Ferry for a Rotor Sail
14. October 2021In light of the ongoing global situation, companies from various industries are focusing more than ever on optimizing and improving their internal processes. In this regard, NIMMSTA and Advantech support their customers by offering smart, more efficient solutions.
(PresseBox; Munich) The latest technology from NIMMSTA, the back-of-hand scanner HS 50, enables the transformation of existing processes into Freehand Scanning Workflows. Due to the customizable touch display, the entire process can be carried out exclusively with the HS 50. Scanning, grabbing, reading information, correction and confirmation inputs – every step is controlled solely through the HS 50, with no additional device required. Advantech advises its customers and supports them during the integration.
Partnership Advantech and NIMMSTA
The high demand in the market, as well as the trend to work hands-free, prompted the two companies to intensify their partnership:
- Together, they will leverage the high demand for Industrial Wearables
- Advantech expands its hardware portfolio with the HS 50
- Efficiency improvement of all processes for their joint customers
- Transform existing processes into Freehand Scanning Workflows
- Increased productivity and workplace safety
- Set new process standards with Freehand Scanning Workflows
- Best service and support for customers
“With the ‘Free-Hand-Scanning’ solution from our partner NIMMSTA, you not only digitize your processes but also revolutionize your intralogistics workflows, achieving a speed/productivity increase and an efficiency advantage of up to 40 percent,” says Michael Kreft, Executive Sales Director Advantech Service-IoT Europe.
The Power of Touch
The HS 50 guides users through the entire process via an interactive user guide on the paperwhite touch display. All information, such as how to turn it on, placement, and easy pairing, is displayed. The NIMMSTA PRO variant allows for individual customization of the touch display. For example, all data related to an item, such as item number, storage location, and quantity, can be displayed, and the quantity can be corrected or confirmed via defined buttons. Through bidirectional communication, all data is sent directly to the WMS.
Freehand Scanning Workflows
With NIMMSTA, all processes become Freehand Scanning Workflows. Handheld scanners must be repeatedly set down, data checked, goods transported, and finally, the scanner must be picked up again. The HS 50 remains on the back of the hand, keeping hands free at all times, and at only 45g, it is hardly noticeable. This makes the processes much faster, and the scanner communicates every error, significantly reducing the error rate.
