New Electric Truck BAX with Outstanding Features
14. October 2021Friderici Special, Avesco Rent, Galliker Transport, and Futuricum present two fully electric tractor units, each with over 900 kWh battery capacity. This is a world premiere “Engineered in Switzerland”. With this, electromobility now reaches heavy and special transports and sets a clear signal in the logistics industry.
(Lucerne) The transport service providers Galliker Transport and Friderici Special, the construction machinery rental company Avesco Rent, and Futuricum, the e-truck brand of the Designwerk Group, present a double world premiere in transport logistics: Two fully electric 40-ton tractor units with a battery capacity of 900 kilowatt-hours (kWh) each. This innovation has come about thanks to the commitment of the four pioneers to sustainability.
The two electric tractor units are completed and have left production towards Friderici Special and Galliker Transport. Adrian Melliger, Managing Director of the Designwerk Group, is pleased: “With the completion and presentation of these vehicles, we are reaching a milestone. Thanks to the installation of 900 kWh battery capacity, we are expanding the range in the logistics sector and enabling particularly energy-intensive applications such as heavy and special transports.”
Special Permit from ASTRA
In order for the fully electric tractor units with 900 kWh to operate on the roads, the manufacturer has a special permit from the Swiss Federal Roads Office ASTRA. This permits the construction and use of two Futuricum vehicle models with an additional length of one meter and an increase in payload by two tons.
The Designwerk Group, which has been fully committed to electromobility for about 12 years, achieves a milestone with the completion of these vehicles that has a signaling effect beyond the country’s borders. This sets another sign for sustainable mobility and ensures locally emission-free journeys.
