Bertschi Group on the Path to Climate-Neutral Logistics
19. October 2021On April 21, 2022, it is “Logistics Day”. Then, Germany’s third-largest economic sector will once again open its doors to the general public and showcase the diverse tasks it undertakes for the economy and society. Companies can now publish events for free on the website www.tag-der-logistik.de.
(Frankfurt/Munich) Logistics opens its doors. On “Logistics Day” on April 21, 2022, interested parties will again have the opportunity to gain insight into specific functions and processes in production companies and logistics service providers on-site. The nationwide action day, initiated by the Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) in 2008, will take place for the 15th time.
Without logistics, neither the economy nor society can function. Recent examples of the importance of the logistics sector’s supply function have been plentiful: from the container ship stuck in the Suez Canal to the challenges in vaccine logistics and the fragile global supply chains due to bottlenecks in transport and handling capacities. Recently, the sold-out British gas stations highlighted the essential role that professional drivers play for companies and consumers.
Recognition of logistics increased during Corona
During the Corona pandemic, there was also much recognition and a heightened awareness of the importance of logistics among broad segments of the population. Logistics companies fulfill the supply function and organize regional and global supply chains for raw materials in the chemical industry, components for the automotive or machinery sectors, or food with high efficiency and reliability. In short: logistics is system-relevant.
Strengthening the logistics sector
Logistics offers exciting, challenging, and meaningful activities in many fields. “Logistics Day” is an opportunity for companies to showcase the incredible diversity of tasks as well as job and career perspectives, thereby attracting people to logistics and ensuring lasting acceptance of the economic sector. To seize the opportunity for image work, companies and organizations must now establish a corresponding event offering and make it widely known. This can happen live on-site or in digital form through webinars, video conferences, live streams, vlogs, blogs, and much more. Additionally, companies can intensify their press work, draw attention to logistics with actions on their websites, or be active on social media. In this way, the topics of the logistics sector are presented to the public together.
