4. November 2021At the logport VI site in the Duisburg port, DSV has commenced operations of its new logistics center, covering an area of 120,000 m², after approximately one year of construction. The recently completed multi-user location offers the Danish transport and logistics provider multimodal transport options as well as new storage capacities for its customers’ goods.
After a year of construction, the first truck delivery has arrived at the new DSV logistics center in the Duisburg port. This marks the official start of operations at the new site in the logport IV area. The new building operated by DSV spans a total area of 120,000 m² and includes six interconnected warehouses with a total usable area of over 57,000 m², as well as an office building of approximately 1,300 m².
The modern complex meets the highest quality standards of the DGNB and has been designed according to the latest standards with a focus on sustainability – for example, the roofs of the logistics center are equipped with a photovoltaic system. “We are pleased with our first delivery and thus the start of operations at the Duisburg site. The modern warehouse meets our customers’ high demands for safe and professional logistics. From food to pharmaceuticals and high-tech products to hazardous goods, a wide variety of goods can be handled appropriately here,” explains Uwe Ernst, Site Manager DSV Solutions Duisburg.
Location Provides Conditions for Multimodal Transport
The location at the Duisburg port offers the Danish logistics company DSV the option to handle multimodal transport by rail, water, or road. Additionally, the Duisburg logistics center is equipped with customized storage technology to meet the requirements of potential customers and serve various industries. In addition to simple warehousing, DSV Solutions in Duisburg also manages manual or fully automated high-bay warehouses, small parts warehouses, block, customs, and consignment warehouses. Local DSV Air & Sea and DSV Road offices are located in close proximity to the new site, enabling end-to-end supply chain services both domestically and internationally.
