DSV and New Balance Expand Collaboration
5. November 2021The Würfel logistics company, specialized in jumbo swap body transport, has expanded its truck fleet with several new swap body vehicles of the type DAF XF 480, equipped by SDG Modultechnik. The trucks are supplied by Fricke Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH. This investment is part of the regular fleet modernization.
(Bremerhaven) The average age of the motor vehicles and tractor units of Würfel is significantly below two years. The traditional company is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. “Even in our anniversary year, we are primarily looking forward and continuing the investment program in our fleet of over 400 own trucks. The younger the fleet, the more modern and environmentally friendly we are for our customers,” explains Karim Gebara, Managing Director of Würfel Holding GmbH. The choice fell on DAF because Würfel has had very good experiences with it. These include not only the low diesel and AdBlue consumption but also the extremely high reliability. “With DAF vehicles, Würfel has had virtually no downtime due to unscheduled workshop stays,” Gebara notes.
Additional arguments were provided by the involved dealer: Fricke Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH from Heeslingen has been one of the suppliers for Würfel logistics for several years. In addition to the competent and customer-oriented salespeople, the logistics provider particularly appreciates the flexible, mobile maintenance with workshop vehicles on weekends or other preferred dates. With this unique service model in Bremerhaven, Fricke saves its customers the trip to the workshop. Instead, the mobile service technicians from the DAF dealer come to the respective operating yard.
Good Acceptance Among Drivers
Another important argument for DAF was the good acceptance among drivers, as Würfel involves its employees in such purchasing decisions. Drivers appreciate the DAF XF 480 for its good equipment, generous space in the cab, and efficient stand air conditioning.
The bodies of the new DAF XFs come from SDG Modultechnik GmbH, which specializes in BDF vehicles. The collaboration between the Bielefeld family business and Würfel Holding has existed for over 10 years. All vehicles of the Würfel logistics company are equipped with bodies from SDG.
