DHL Express Launches Cargo Airline DHL Air Austria
9. November 2021RHW Logistics GmbH, based in Kaarst, is constructing a new automated logistics center at the port of Krefeld with storage and shipping capacities for electrical household appliances. RHW Logistics has commissioned the intralogistics specialist Kardex Mlog for the delivery of the logistics trades. The flexible concept of the storage and material flow solution allows for versatile use.
(Neuenstadt) The centerpiece of the new facility, which spans approximately 10,000 square meters, is a five-aisle high-bay warehouse that will provide around 30,000 pallet spaces for items in the “white goods” sector at a total height of 41 meters. In the state-of-the-art logistics center, both pallets and cartons in various formats will be transported via conveyor technology. The flexible concept of the storage and material flow solution allows for versatile use and offers RHW Logistics high investment security with various options for future adjustments. The processes between picking, packing, and preparing for shipping are controlled and visualized by the warehouse management software Mlog Control Center (MCC). Goods can originate from both automated and manual areas during order assembly.
RHW Logistics GmbH is part of a corporate group that operates another large warehouse with approximately 71,000 square meters of logistics space on a total area of 152,000 square meters at the Krefeld port. The site serves the storage and shipping of white goods to large customers. The new logistics center is set to be built on an adjacent plot of approximately 18,200 square meters. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2022, with completion expected in the following December. Project management, including the technical and scheduling coordination of the trades for rack steel construction as well as roof and wall, is the responsibility of Kardex Mlog. “The decision for Kardex Mlog was easy for us, especially since a large part of the technology comes from our own production in Germany, and the reference list speaks for extensive experience,” explains RHW project manager Martin Lentz.
Comprehensive Package
