DPD Relieves Employees with Exoskeletons from German Bionic
10. November 2021The Hintzen Logistik GmbH, Eschweiler, and the Transland Spedition GmbH, Haiger, are new partners in the piece goods network Online System Logistics (OSL). Since October 1, Hintzen has taken over the Eifel region and the area around Eschweiler, while Transland has been strengthening the North Rhine-Westphalia region since November 1.
(Paderborn) At the same time as the entry of the new partners, OSL is changing the regional distribution. “It has proven effective to work with multiple partners in urban areas and to optimize the regions by reducing their size,” explains OSL Managing Director Petra Welling. “This addresses the increased volume of shipments – we relieve the individual partners and further enhance the quality of our service with increased network density.”
New Regional Distribution in North Rhine-Westphalia
The exit of the Kost forwarding company on October 31 has prompted Online System Logistics to implement a new regional distribution: The region east of Cologne has been taken over by the partner Heuel Logistics since September, while the adjacent area in Siegerland/Sauerland between Schmallenberg in the north and Burbach in the south has been served by Transland since November. The company’s headquarters is in Haiger, Hesse. There, and at the Herborn location, 200 employees and 62 local transport vehicles are in operation; a double-decker semi-trailer operates in the main OSL route. Transland has been part of the Zufall Group since 2007. From 1995 to 2008, Transland was already a system partner of OSL.

The Eifel in the western part of North Rhine-Westphalia, bordering Belgium, and the region around Eschweiler has been covered by Hintzen Logistik GmbH since October 1. Hintzen thus relieves the system partner Gräfen. At the headquarters in Eschweiler and the location in Bergheim, Hintzen employs 125 staff. Of the total 65 vehicles, one truck is on the main route and 26 distribution vehicles are on the road for OSL.
