Hellmann Receives Award for “Work-Life Balance in Professional Care”
18. November 2021On the occasion of the federal elections, BVL publishes a position paper on supply chain management and logistics. It conveys in a compact and catchy form the fundamental data and facts about the economic sector in general as well as the currently pressing issues, the challenges, and the wishes and recommendations for action from the economy.
(Bremen) The Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) e.V. has formulated a position paper that informs politicians about the logistics sector – the third largest economic sector in Germany with 3.2 million employees, following the automotive industry and trade. Logistics is the engine for economic growth and the labor market. It secures our prosperity and directly contributes to the success of all economic sectors. It also bears a significant social responsibility. To meet this responsibility, future-proof framework conditions are necessary. In its position paper, BVL has described six areas of action where politics can make a difference:
- The logistics sector as a whole
- Infrastructure
- Digitalization / Network infrastructure
- Sustainability / Types of drive
- Urban logistics
- Innovation / Utilizing logistics knowledge
Challenges can only be mastered across party lines
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wimmer, Chairman of the Board of BVL: “We are convinced that the challenges facing the economy, society, and politics can only be mastered together and across all party lines, so that Germany remains successful and competitive. With our position paper, we invite the members of the Bundestag as well as the relevant committees and ministries to engage in dialogue.”
The position paper is also available for download:
Additionally, in the “scrollytelling” format, there is also a small story that shows where logistics encounters us in everyday life.
