Platform Economy – The Game Changers Are Already Among Us
17. November 2021Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics properties in Europe, is realizing an expansion building for the internationally operating logistics service provider Barsan Global Logistik GmbH in Nuremberg. The company, headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, offers transport solutions, warehouse and distribution center management, customs and supply chain solutions.
(Hamburg/Nuremberg) As part of a Sale & Lease-Back model, Barsan is selling its existing space and is further expanding its location in Nuremberg through the leaseback of the existing building and the additional new construction.
The future building, consisting of new and existing construction, will be developed on a plot area of 30,600 sqm and will have a total of three hall sections with a total logistics area of approximately 16,200 sqm, 1,400 sqm of office and social space, and 600 sqm of mezzanine space upon completion. The building height will be 10 m UKB, and the floor load will be 6 t/sqm. The outdoor areas will include a total of 74 car and 22 truck parking spaces.
The existing and new construction will account for approximately 8,200 sqm of rental space for Barsan in the future. A third hall section will be developed with 8,200 sqm of logistics space without pre-letting and is still available to potential tenants. The area is located in the Schmalau industrial zone in Nuremberg, in close proximity to the federal highways A3 and A73, and has excellent east-west and north-south connections.
As part of a sustainable project realization, Panattoni will install E-charging stations for cars and, in consultation with the municipality of Fürth, will build its own bike path on the property. A photovoltaic system is already installed on the existing building. The new construction will be certified according to DGNB Gold.
Foundation for Further Growth
“By expanding our existing facility at the Nuremberg location, we are laying the foundation for further growth in the region. We are pleased to have found a partner in Panattoni who competently and flexibly meets our needs,” explains Ali Ümit Celik, Managing Director of Barsan Global Logistik.
Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni, comments on the expansion project as follows: “For Barsan Global Logistik, we are implementing a complex construction and financing structure. The Sale & Lease-Back model for logistics properties that we offer at Panattoni proves once again to be an attractive solution for companies with dynamic and future-oriented development.”
The start of construction is scheduled for the end of 2021, with Panattoni planning completion for October 2022. Marcus Blumenthal and Yunus Erciyas from Colliers International Deutschland GmbH acted as brokerage firms.
