8. December 2021The LogCoop GmbH has commissioned the platform operator Trans.eu to create a cooperation platform for organizing the transports of its members. This software hub connects the companies from the alliance of medium-sized logistics service providers. It also allows each individual partner of the cooperation to access all vehicle resources of the network.
(Berlin/Düsseldorf) For the logistics network LogCoop, which has more than 200 affiliated partners, the new platform represents a milestone: For the first time, all members are directly connected in an IT solution and can assign transport orders to each other. They have access to vehicles and loads of the cooperation participants. To enable this, Trans.eu has set up a closed user group within its logistics platform for land transport, which is exclusively available to the network. Users from medium-sized logistics service providers can further subdivide this resource and create their own area with frequently used transport partners.
Fixed Contracts and Automatic Assignment Rules
Through the platform, LogCoop members automate their freight assignment. They can define rules that the system applies automatically. For example, freight offers initially go to the circle of their own transport partners with fixed contracts. Only if none of these business partners accepts the order, the offer is automatically placed throughout the entire group of the network and subsequently among all approximately 25,000 carriers on the Trans.eu platform. For this automatic assignment, companies can set fixed contracts with fixed rates as well as additional rules that gradually expand the bidding circle.
Convenient IT Functions
Additionally, the service providers in the LogCoop network benefit from further service functions of the Trans.eu logistics platform. They have access to the so-called Instant Price function, which determines a price with a high closing probability based on past transactions. Furthermore, members can conduct price negotiations via the platform’s own chat. In this messenger, messages between negotiating partners from different countries are automatically translated, facilitating contract negotiations. Users also benefit from visibility and statistics functions that provide them with both a live status of the transports and performance reports.
Individual Benefits for LogCoop Members
In addition to the logistics network as a whole, which benefits from its new IT hub, individual member companies also generate significant benefits: They can compensate for the shortage of skilled workers through the 25,000 carriers connected to Trans.eu and improve the profitability of their transports through backloads. Moreover, they gain advantages in the digitization of their processes through the telematics integration of the Trans.eu logistics platform and its connected app. Through the reporting system, partners not only recognize the reliability of individual carriers but also gain information on price developments in the spot market compared to the rates of their fixed contracts.
Next Growth Step
For LogCoop, the collaboration with Trans.eu creates the basis for further growth. The European logistics network is now more closely linked and operationally connected. “With our new central platform, we achieve real synergies because we can share our transport resources and utilize them more efficiently,” explains LogCoop Managing Director Marc Possekel. “This transparency allows us to attract more partners.” For Trans.eu, the new cooperation also represents an important development step. “As a central platform at LogCoop, we demonstrate our IT competence and confirm our digital future strategy,” emphasizes Thomas Gawel, Business Development Director Western Europe at Trans.eu.
About LogCoop
As a cooperation, LogCoop GmbH consolidates the complete range of services of medium-sized companies in the transport and logistics industry in the sense of one-stop shopping. Currently, over 200 members in Europe belong to the network, which enables the neutral bundling of individual resources and promotes the use of synergies to enhance the competitiveness of each individual.
About Trans.eu
The digital platform for land transport Trans.eu is based on a carrier database that has been established in the Eastern European market for over 15 years. All companies listed in it have been verified by the provider and activated after successful validation. To enable secure collaboration between carriers and their clients, the IT platform features simple functions for digital order management. These include workflows for order assignment as well as mutual evaluations of contract partners after the completion of a transport. In an integrated online messenger, all communication regarding freight assignment on the Trans.eu platform takes place. It is automatically digitally documented and archived. Thus, the platform creates additional security in the cooperation between carriers and their clients through simple digital processes.
