The Swiss Logistics Industry Presents Itself on SWISS LOGISTICS DAY 2022
10. December 2021Panattoni, a project developer for industrial and logistics real estate in Europe, has been represented in Berlin with its own branch since December 1, 2021. With its fifth location in Germany, the developer is responding to its continuous growth trajectory and the significance of the Berlin-Brandenburg economic region. The new offices are located in the business park “City Dock Spandau,” developed by Panattoni itself.
(Hamburg/Berlin) Following the existing branches in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Mannheim, and Munich, Panattoni has also been represented in Berlin with its own branch since December 1, 2021.
The new office spaces, covering 200 square meters, are located in the City Dock Spandau, realized by the developer itself. The innovative business parks provide commercial and office spaces in urban locations with excellent connections to the urban infrastructure. With the move to the City Dock, Panattoni is situated next to existing tenants TIER Mobility, Kindsgut, Hennig Fahrzeugteile, Obeta, and other users. Together with the new four-member employee team, there will also be a dedicated project management team on-site, which was previously handled from the Hamburg office.
With the establishment of the new branch, Panattoni is responding to its continuous growth trajectory in the German market. According to the current study “Logistics and Real Estate” by Bulwiengesa, the largest independent analysis company in the real estate industry in continental Europe, the company was the most active developer of logistics real estate in the German market in 2021. In May 2021, Panattoni ranked first for the fifth consecutive time in the list of the largest European developers published by the trade magazine PropertyEU.
Importance of the Berlin-Brandenburg Economic Region
The special significance of the Berlin-Brandenburg economic region also plays a role in the establishment. Panattoni is realizing several extensive logistics and commercial parks there, including the Panattoni Park Berlin South, the Microvast European headquarters in Berlin Ludwigsfelde, and three City Docks in Berlin Spandau, Falkensee, and Marzahn. The latter combines the two types of properties, business and logistics parks, for the first time, thereby expanding the settlement options in a City Dock for providers of more intensive logistics services that go beyond last-mile processing.
Maintaining Local Focus
“Due to its attractive location and economic significance, Berlin is one of the most future-oriented metropolises in all of Europe and is one of the focus markets for Panattoni. Both the area and rental turnover in the Berlin market are constantly reaching new record levels, with user groups from production, trade, and logistics being strongly represented. It is part of our self-understanding at Panattoni to always maintain a local focus in our activities and project developments. In the case of the Berlin location and its dynamic market developments, the establishment of our own branch justifies itself, which does not exclude further expansion,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni.
