GROUP7 Logistics Center in Hamburg Breaks Ground
13. December 2021Transport prices are currently reaching new heights, putting many companies under pressure. With its namesake cloud platform, eFrexx GmbH offers shippers a convenient solution that allows for an average savings of 30 percent on freight costs. The platform enables both spot and contract tenders for transport via road, rail, sea, and air to be processed digitally.
(Ratingen) eFrexx’s software-as-a-service solution is specifically tailored to shippers and automatically negotiates the best freight rates. However, carriers also benefit from eFrexx, as the high quality of the tender data enables them to significantly reduce their process costs. With their own profile, they are also much more visible due to the more manageable competition in eFrexx’s closed community and additionally benefit from referrals by other platform users.
“Transport prices have now risen so high that they seriously jeopardize the profitability of some companies. eFrexx offers a way out of this dilemma, as our platform allows for an average savings of 30 percent on freight costs – with full process control, mind you,” says eFrexx founder and CEO Achim Quaken. The system pays off for companies with freight costs of 200,000 euros per year. Two pricing models are offered: a monthly flat rate and a calculation based on transport volume. Additionally, there is the option of a 30-day trial subscription under real conditions.
eFrexx is primarily designed for internationally operating companies and includes transport routes by sea, air, road, and rail – the inland shipping and warehousing sectors will be added shortly. “Unlike platforms operated by freight forwarders or open freight exchanges, we view the logistics market through the lens of shippers. Our clients’ tender platforms are closed communities and are managed by them,” says Quaken.
Customizable Portal
The start-up provides its clients with a customizable portal designed in their respective corporate design, as well as a dedicated URL. Only invited transport service providers have access to this. There are no additional costs for hardware and software or their maintenance. Using eFrexx is remarkably simple: First, the shipper creates a tender, for which they can use templates, and submits it to the portal. In the second step, they invite carriers that fit the profile to participate. At the end of the auction, the shipper then decides, with the help of a dashboard that clearly displays all offers and relevant information, which transport service provider they will entrust with the order. Histories and templates allow for the reuse of previously conducted transport tenders, thus reducing the time required for this to just a few minutes.
Driving Internationalization
The user-friendly design of the cloud platform also helps in this regard. Extensive training is not required; after a short onboarding period, users can work independently with the system. Furthermore, the solution is available in multiple languages and is already in use in numerous countries across Europe, North America, and Asia. In the coming years, the start-up plans to drive internationalization forward and develop a partnership system. “Behind eFrexx is a team of seasoned professionals, primarily from logistics and IT, with some having over 30 years of experience,” says Quaken. There is much potential to develop further improvements for the market.
