RheinCargo Acquires Three New Locomotives for Intermodal Transport
29. December 2021The HGK Group continues its integration strategy. At the turn of the year 2021/22, the activities of HTAG Häfen und Transport AG (HTAG) will be transferred to the operational companies of the HGK Shipping and HGK Logistics and Intermodal business areas. The focus is on strengthening the service options for customers.
(Köln) During the course of 2021, this integration step was already prepared by changes in the management of HGK Dry Shipping GmbH, HTAG, and Neska Schiffahrts- und Speditionskontor GmbH. Now, at the turn of the year 2022, the operational areas “Shipping / Chartering” and “Ports / Handling” will be transferred to the receiving companies HGK Dry Shipping and Neska. The employees will also move to the receiving companies along with the operational areas.
“The reorganization focuses on two essential aspects for us: strengthening our service options for our customers in the respective business fields and the sustainable development of jobs in future-oriented markets,” explains Uwe Wedig the reasons for the changes. While in inland shipping, the bundling of competencies and fleet capacities contributes to further increasing the security of supply for important goods flows and expanding goods segments and navigable areas, the business field “Ports / Handling” focuses on the targeted development of locations for the higher-value logistics services of the Neska companies.
“The seamless transition benefits not only the customers but also our employees. In this way, we can offer them long-term secure jobs and good development opportunities in growing business areas,” Uwe Wedig is pleased to say.

A large part of the integration strategy includes the area of HGK LOGISTICS AND INTERMODAL
Changes in Management Structures Prepared Throughout the Year
At the beginning of 2021, changes in the management structure had already taken place in preparation for this process. The management of HGK Dry Shipping was expanded under the leadership of HGK Shipping CEO Steffen Bauer to include Andreas Lemme and Joachim Holstein. Mr. Holstein left the board of HTAG in this context.
At HTAG, board member Volker Seefeldt resigned from his mandate on September 30, 2021. He was succeeded by long-time sales manager and authorized signatory Andreas Grzib, who was also appointed to the management of Neska Schiffahrts und Speditionskontor GmbH.
