Impulses for More Sustainability in Transport Logistics
24. January 2022The EBERL International Freight Forwarding Company, based in Nußdorf/Chiemgau, has taken over Guido Obermaier Transporte from Prien-Bachham. Guido Obermaier GmbH, a traditional company and specialist in Scandinavian transport in Bavaria (transport to Sweden, Norway, Finland), has been part of the EBERL Group since January 1, 2022.
(Pressebox; Aiging/Prien) Eleven trucks with a total of 30 pulling and towed units for long-distance transport have been handed over by Obermaier to the EBERL company. This is a partial business takeover, as the entire real estate portfolio and two trucks (including those for timber transport) have been retained by Guido Obermaier for his still independent operation.
“We are pleased to take over the activities of the Scandinavian specialist Obermaier Transporte into our corporate group. Since we have been working with a major customer in Sweden for over 18 years, many synergies arise from this that complement and enhance our existing portfolio,” says Managing Director Thomas Eberl.
Thomas Eberl looks positively to the future: “This opens up further potentials for us. We now have a broader and more attractive range for our customers. All jobs will, of course, be retained. We look forward to fresh know-how and new, experienced, and qualified employees.”
Founded in 1967, EBERL International Freight Forwarding is primarily active in national and international piece goods and freight transport as well as customs and air/sea transport. With over 50 years of experience and industry knowledge, we can offer our customers highly specialized solutions.
Families Have Known Each Other for Years
Guido Obermaier placed great importance on a medium-sized solution. “Both our valued customers and our employees place great importance on a trusting partnership. These values can almost only be found in medium-sized companies.”
The Eberl and Obermaier families have known and appreciated each other for many years. “Therefore, I am very pleased that we have found a common solution. The perspective of all parties involved is based on the great confidence we wish for the future. We are sure that Guido Obermaier Transporte is in the best hands,” emphasizes Guido Obermaier.
“We warmly welcome all employees as well as all customers and partners of Guido Obermaier Transporte. We look forward to a successful future together,” says Thomas Eberl.
A Total of 300 Employees in the Group
The EBERL Group also includes the company KLVrent commercial vehicle rental. This currently has 1,250 pulling and towed units at eleven locations in Germany, and by the end of 2022, the commercial vehicle rental fleet is expected to grow to a total of 1,800 units. A total of 300 employees work in the EBERL Group.
