31. January 2022Flexport, the technology platform and digital freight forwarder, has entered into a partnership with JetOneX to provide higher air freight capacity on the route between Asia and Europe. A connection between Hong Kong and Maastricht will be offered twice a week, and once a week between Ho Chi Minh City and Maastricht.
(PresseBox; Hamburg/Amsterdam) The Far-East-Westbound (FEWB) trade route will be serviced twice a week between Hong Kong and Maastricht and once a week between Ho Chi Minh City and Maastricht as part of the cooperation. The services are organized jointly by JetOneX and Flexport. Boeing 747 freighters with a combined gross freight capacity of 190 tons and 1,100 cubic meters (from Hong Kong to Maastricht) and 75 tons and 400 cubic meters (from Ho Chi Minh City to Maastricht) will be used for the flights.
JetOneX is a specialist in intercontinental long-haul heavy cargo transport, operating a fleet of four B747F freighters, four 747M, and from mid-2022, four 747 P2F. This allows Flexport customers to benefit from high flexibility in flight planning and a one-stop air freight solution.
“The bottlenecks in the air freight market caused by global uncertainty and rapidly changing Covid regulations are still leading to cancellations and volatile prices,” comments Neel Jones Shah, Executive Vice President Airfreight at Flexport. “Through our partnership with JetOneX, we are now able to expand our air freight capacities. Our customers receive first-class service, especially since they can use the uncongested airport in Maastricht as a gateway to Europe. We aim to further expand this service in the future to create a comprehensive network of cargo flights that our customers can rely on at any time.”
Additional Capacity of 1,000 Tons Monthly
Paul Rombeek, Senior Director of Network Trade Lane Management EMEA at Flexport, adds: “Through our excellent handling and distribution capabilities that we can offer our customers in Europe, we achieve quick distribution and delivery of goods upon arrival in Maastricht. Our network of own warehouses and partner warehouses is managed end-to-end by our dedicated Flexport employees.”
The FEWB air freight service from Flexport now offers an additional freight capacity of 1,000 tons every month. Flexport and JetOneX work directly with Maastricht Airport.
