8. February 2022The revenue development for the year 2021 has been evaluated. Compared to the previous year, the Hamburg-based startup driveMybox has recorded more than a doubling of revenue and is strongly on an expansion course. The online platform has successfully expanded container transport to the northern and western ports as well as the German hinterland hubs.
(Hamburg) The startup driveMybox has been able to continue its growth trajectory in the 2021 financial year, achieving not only an increase but more than a doubling of total revenue compared to the previous year. Founded in 2019, the Hamburg-based startup is steadily growing and consistently expanding its team. Through the enhancement of the digital platform and the high commitment of employees in daily operations, the driveMybox team has been able to ensure high demand for container transports and satisfaction for customers and service providers.
Aaron Spandehra, CBDO, emphasizes: “The months from June to December 2021 were more than pleasing for us. In addition to strong organic growth, we made significant strategic progress and were able to establish further interesting partnerships. Furthermore, the number of registrations, bookings, and tours on both the customer and service provider sides grew rapidly. Thanks to our existing and new customers, we were able to further expand the business and significantly increase revenue.”
The intuitive and user-friendly digital platform was launched in Germany in 2020. It offers an all-in-one solution for container transports; the entire transport process from price inquiry to dispatch to billing is digitized, and in just a few clicks, any company wishing to transport a container by truck can book a transport through the platform. Registered service providers, on the other hand, receive optimized transport orders via push notification directly on their smartphones, allowing them to accept trips flexibly and independently. The process is quick, easy, and similar to booking a flight. Live tracking, automatic payment processing, direct communication, and digital documents are just some of the advantages. driveMybox handles the transports independently and is thus a fixed contractual partner for both sides. This ensures more flexibility and transparency in container trucking, and all of this is free of charge.
Strong and Reliable Partner
A recent customer survey has shown that driveMybox is seen as a strong and reliable partner even in times of significant fluctuations and disruptions in supply chains, capable of responding flexibly to inquiries. “In recent months, we have primarily focused on developing added value for our customers and service providers and preparing the digital platform for international expansions. An important focus for 2022 is to enable sustainable container transports and to be able to respond flexibly to changes in operational processes automatically based on our AI. With new innovations, we aim to enable CO2-optimized or ‘Zero Emission’ transports and create further added value, for example, for customs processing and renting equipment through collaboration with strong partners,” says co-founder and CTO Dr. Leonard Heilig.
Meanwhile, driveMybox is not only operating nationally but also internationally in road transport. This includes not only the northern ports and inland hubs but also the western ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp. The customer base includes shipping companies, intermodal companies, shippers, and freight forwarders.

Outlook for 2022
Heilig and Spandehra expect a significant increase in revenue for the 2022 financial year based on the anticipated macroeconomic and industry-specific conditions. By focusing on the seven building blocks – market penetration, growth, expansion, innovation, operational efficiency, strong corporate values, and sustainability – driveMybox aims to further develop the tech company by early 2023.
To achieve the strategic goals, particular investments will be made in the further development of the platform as well as in the expansion itself. Additionally, the focus will be on the sustainability of the platform, and collaboration in the form of cooperations and partnerships will be intensified.
