VTG Rail Logistics standardizes and accelerates its core processes from now on – these range from procurement, sales, contract management, and planning to order and transport management, and finally to billing. This is made possible by the digital solutions from Rail-Flow. The contract includes the adaptation and further development of the Rail-Flow products, their provision for the users of VTG Rail Logistics, as well as 24/7 support.
(Frankfurt/Hamburg) With the solutions of the Rail-Flow ecosystem, VTG Rail Logistics aims to ensure a uniform and efficient process flow across Europe. To this end, Rail-Flow is enhancing its digital ecosystem with a Rail Order and Transport Management System (Rail TMS). In the procurement and sale of transport services, VTG Rail Logistics relies on Rail-Flow’s proven Procurement & Tender Management (PTM) platform. The rollout of the PTM starts immediately in the national subsidiaries of VTG Rail Logistics.
After the contract is signed with customers and service providers, the handling of rail logistics services before, during, and after transport will be managed in real-time across Europe by the Rail TMS. This Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution sets new standards in terms of technical completeness, automation, user-friendliness, and portals & interfaces. Simple administrative tasks will be automated. This allows the employees of VTG Rail Logistics to focus on the proactive management of train operations and communication with customers and partners. The rollout for the Rail TMS in the national subsidiaries of VTG Rail Logistics will begin in the summer of 2022, with the completion of the Europe-wide implementation planned for mid-2023. In addition to full train operations and complex logistics concepts, classic single wagon transports will also be handled through the Rail TMS.
Processes Harmonized Across Europe
Through the digital solutions from Rail-Flow, the processes of VTG Rail Logistics are harmonized across Europe, and commercial as well as operational activities are managed holistically. Customers benefit from increased quality in processing and accelerated information flow.
