DB Schenker’s New Building in Hamburg Embraces Green Logistics
10. February 2022
Swiss Post and SBB Cargo are inseparable
10. February 2022ECO Containertrans GmbH, based in Weil am Rhein, has opened another location in Moers as of early February. This gives the container logistics company four locations in Weil am Rhein, Bremen, Mannheim, and Moers. From Moers, customers in the Ruhr area and nearby Holland will be served. The new branch is led by co-owner Marc Palma.
(Weil am Rhein/Moers) ECO Containertrans GmbH has chosen Moers in the district of Wesel as its new office to have another location on the Rhine and to further expand its partner network and create proximity to customers in the Rhine-Ruhr area.
As an “extended gate” to the seaports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, with nearly endless terminal possibilities for inland shipping and rail transport in North Rhine-Westphalia and the adjacent Dutch provinces of Limburg and Gelderland, the location offers everything that the range of intermodal options has to offer.
The new location combines tradition and modernity
The new branch of ECO Containertrans is located in the cozy “Eurotec Looop” in Moers
The office in Moers is situated in a former industrial building typical of the region’s mining industry. In true Ruhrpott style, the “Eurotec Looop” in Moers combines office and service center and serves as a meeting place that connects tradition and modernity. “This is exactly what ECO Containertrans stands for; it couldn’t have been a more fitting choice,” says Michael Alker, the main shareholder and one of the two managing directors alongside Marc Palma, expressing his satisfaction with the successful location choice.
From here, the new employees Constantin Ufer and Markus Bies plan and coordinate multimodal transports. More employees will follow. Marc Palma is responsible for the new branch.
Anniversary celebration to be made up for later this year
In addition to the establishment of the new branch in Moers, ECO Containertrans GmbH has another reason to celebrate.
The company, founded in 2012, was able to look back on its 10th anniversary on January 1 of this year. “Due to Corona, the celebration unfortunately had to be canceled. But we hope to make up for it appropriately later this year,” Alker looks forward.
