Volvo Trucks with Largest Market Share of E-Trucks in Europe
16. February 2022Starting April 1, 2022, Hapag-Lloyd will offer the new China Germany Express (CGX) service as a loop product with two ports. The new service will provide an additional gateway to and from South China and connect Northern Europe directly on a weekly basis. This allows customers to benefit from the intermodal capacities in Dachan Bay and Hamburg – while also gaining access to the Central and Eastern European markets.
(Hamburg/Dachan Bay) “In light of our customers’ cargo planning and the strong demand for container transport, we have developed this new service for the China-Germany routes, addressing the current challenges in the market,” said Andreas Buetfering, Senior Director Trade Management Far East at Hapag-Lloyd: “We are meeting these challenges by offering our customers a new and fast connection between China and Europe, while simultaneously reducing complexity and increasing reliability for them.”
Eight Panamax Ships in Operation
The new China Germany Express (CGX) service will be operated with eight Panamax ships and will replace Hapag-Lloyd’s Far East Loop 6, 7, and 8 services starting April 2022. This transition enables a seamless shift to a product that allows for improved long-term freight planning. The CGX will offer regular weekly departures with a transit time of 27 days.
The first westbound departure (Dachan Bay to Hamburg) is scheduled for early April 2022, while the first eastbound departure (Hamburg to Dachan Bay) is planned for early May 2022.
