InstaFreight Launches Partner Program for Carriers
17. February 2022For the transport and logistics industry in Germany, DEKRA is now offering a new complete service: With the compliance package, fleet managers fulfill their obligations regarding the reading of driver cards and tachographs as well as the driver’s license checks, digitally and seamlessly. This ensures legal security.
(Stuttgart) The integration of the service package in the DEKRA service portal provides a constant overall overview.
Driver’s license checks can be conducted at many DEKRA locations, for example.

“For commercial transportation, the relevant provisions of the Occupational Safety Act and the Drivers’ Personnel Regulation apply. At the same time, companies that provide company vehicles are obliged to regularly check the driver’s licenses of their employees. We cover both areas with our complete service,” explains Erol Colakoglu, responsible for services related to electronic driver’s license checks at DEKRA Automobil GmbH.
In the new compliance package, DEKRA bundles the services offered in partnership with LapID (driver’s license checks) and DAKO (reading, archiving, and evaluating data from driver cards and tachographs).
Driver’s license checks can take place anytime, anywhere
“When it comes to driver’s license checks, drivers have the choice: Depending on their preference, they can complete the legally required check, which is recommended twice a year by lawyers, either flexibly and anytime with the LapID Driver App on their smartphone or with the help of the LapID seal at over 1,200 testing stations in Germany, such as many DEKRA locations,” says the expert. “This ensures that driver’s license checks can take place at any time, no matter where you are.” The data from the checks are managed conveniently and clearly in the LapID customer system.
Regarding the reading of driver cards and tachographs, the offered processes significantly facilitate compliance with the laws. After the company’s registration and the registration of driver cards and vehicles, the read data is automatically assigned to the company and archived. Data from driver cards must be stored no later than 28 days, and tachograph data must be stored at least every 90 days. “With our offer, we relieve fleet managers at an important point. They avoid costly fines that can be detrimental to business and thus have a clear focus on their core business,” says Erol Colakoglu. “Changes in legal regulations are reliably taken into account.”
Integration into the service portal
The compliance package is rounded off by the integration of services into the DEKRA service portal, where, for example, due dates and documents related to the inspection of vehicles, systems, and equipment are managed. “Thus, our customers from the transport and logistics industry have an overall overview in one central place – from the due main inspection to the inspection report for the roll-up door to the driver’s license check and the digital tachograph,” explains the DEKRA expert. “We are pleased that we can once again create a tangible added value for our customers and DEKRA members.”
