GOVECS Expands with E-Scooter FLEX DELIVERY to the USA
23. February 2022Under the name FIEGE NOW, the logistics provider Fiege offers a range of fully standardized services. This allows the Greven-based family business to target a market segment that has not previously fit into the traditional solution business: companies for which customized logistics concepts are not feasible due to small order volumes or financial constraints.
(Greven) “We are constantly in contact with companies for which individual logistics processing is not economically viable according to previous standards due to their low order or shipment volumes,” says Julius Wegmann, Head of Omnichannel Development at Fiege. The company aims to open up to this market. “With FIEGE NOW, we create a fast, clearly quantifiable, and low-risk offering that is supported by synergy effects and thus also makes sense for many smaller retailers.”
Bundling of Volumes
The advantage of standardization: “By bundling volumes, we create the crucial momentum to offer our proven services to a very broad target group,” says Wegmann. “In addition to logistical fulfillment, this also applies to our customer platform. All customers gain access to real-time reporting, can view customer orders, and edit them up to the point of shipment.”
Service Portfolio is Large
For Peter Scherbel, a board member of the Fiege Group and responsible for Operational Excellence, e-commerce fulfillment is just the beginning for FIEGE NOW: “Our service portfolio is incredibly large, but also very individual. Therefore, we want to gradually define our services as products to offer them modularly and easily to our customers.” The first steps on this path have already been taken. FIEGE NOW also offers customers a scalable customer service and complete accounts receivable management – and the internationalization of FIEGE NOW is firmly planned for 2022.
