Grieshaber Weingarten Restructures with New Departments
24. February 2022The ELVIS Teilladungssystem GmbH based in Knüllwald is expanding its management. The shareholders’ meeting has appointed Vanessa Klonnek (43) and Steffen Renner (57) as equal managing directors with immediate effect, thereby initiating the succession of Jochen Eschborn.
(Knüllwald) Klonnek is responsible for the company’s international activities, while Renner has been entrusted with the management of the national business. Eschborn is stepping back from operational business and will henceforth serve as spokesperson for the management.
“The partial load system has experienced very positive development in recent years. The handling volumes have continuously grown, as has the number of partner companies connected,” summarizes Jochen Eschborn, managing director of ELVIS Teilladungssystem GmbH and board member of ELVIS AG. To adjust the capacities to demand, the storage and handling area of the hub in Knüllwald was doubled to now 20,000 square meters just about a year ago. “Now it is important to align the management of the company according to the new size ratios and the strategic goal of growing nationally and internationally,” says Eschborn.
Gradual Withdrawal of Jochen Eschborn
With the appointment of Klonnek and Renner, the shareholders’ meeting is simultaneously initiating the gradual withdrawal of Jochen Eschborn from management, of which he will remain the spokesperson for the time being.
Vanessa Klonnek will take over the management of the international business. The 43-year-old business economist has been with the partial load system since 2020 and brings a wealth of international experience from longer stays abroad, including in Melbourne, Chicago, and New York, back to Knüllwald. Her goal is to expand cross-border freight transport and partial shipments. Klonnek: “In addition, we also want to grow internationally with our forklift network.”
Expanding the Network and Gaining New Partners
Supporting her is Steffen Renner, who will now be responsible for all domestic activities of the company. The 57-year-old transportation specialist from Naumburg (Saale) has more than 20 years of work experience with various freight cooperations and has been responsible for all operational processes at the Knüllwald hub as a procurator of the partial load system since July 2019. He aims to further increase the efficiency of operations there, expand the network, and gain new partners. Renner: “I see the prerequisites for this in a streamlined organization with a very high degree of digitalization.”
