Logix Strengthens Board with Dirk Landrock and Janine Zimmermann
15. March 2022Based on a very successful retrofit business in the commercial vehicle segment with their business unit Q-Retrofit, Quantron AG was able to achieve a revenue of 10 million euros in the fiscal year 2021, representing an increase of about 500%. This demonstrates the Augsburg-based company’s significant market acceptance already in its second operational year after its founding.
(Gersthofen) Compared to the previous year, this result corresponds to an increase of around 500 percent. In the reporting year, Quantron delivered 30 emission-free vehicles to IKEA, contributing to the furniture giant’s goal of becoming climate-positive by 2030.
In light of a continuously increasing demand from other potential customers, Quantron AG aims for an order volume of 400 vehicles in 2022, which corresponds to a potential total revenue of 50 – 60 million euros in the refitting business.
With the expansion into the business field Unit Q-Mobility, which has been offering its own QUANTRON brand vehicles since February 2022 with the 12-meter BEV bus Cizaris, Quantron AG sees a very good foundation to continue its positive business development.
The bus is available in a BEV version with a range of up to 370 kilometers (according to eSORT 2). An FCEV version is already in development and is expected to hit the market in the fourth quarter of this year.
Advancing Hydrogen Development
Furthermore, as a member and work package leader of the GREATER4H project by STRING, Quantron is further advancing the development and use of hydrogen in the mobility sector. The European project aims to create a self-sufficient ecosystem based on green hydrogen for heavy commercial vehicles between Oslo and Hamburg. In addition, QUANTRON initiated many other global projects last year, including in the USA, Scandinavia, and Saudi Arabia.
The year 2022 also stands for Quantron AG as the year of the “Hydrogen Offensive.” Starting from the partnership with Ballard Power Systems (Canada), through development projects for heavy trucks intended for use in the EU and the USA, to strategic partnerships with H2 refueling station providers and Quantron AG’s participation in the STRING project, Quantron demonstrates its ambitions for the decarbonization of heavy-duty transport. Hydrogen is an energy source that makes mobility more independent of oil and gas, and Quantron AG aims to play a significant role in this area.
Visible Size in the Field of Emission-Free Transport
Michael Perschke, CEO and board member of the company, emphasizes: “Despite the ongoing COVID-19 measures, Quantron AG was able to significantly expand its business in 2021, forge strategic partnerships, and establish itself as a reliable supplier for leading zero-emission pioneers. 2022 will be the year in which Quantron AG solidifies its path to becoming a leading provider of hydrogen-powered products – in collaboration with our strategic partner Ballard Power – and a provider of emission-free mobility solutions.”
Andreas Haller, founder and chairman of the board, adds: “I am proud that Quantron AG has already become a visible player in the field of emission-free transport less than two years after its founding. With a global, competent team, we want to continue to be a driving force that effectively implements the transition to emission-free mobility for people and goods.”
