17. March 2022The willingness to donate was great. 63 pallets full of aid supplies reached Przeworsk in Poland yesterday, Wednesday. The organizer of the aid action was the municipality of Raubling near Rosenheim, supported by the fire department, BTK Logistics, and many helping hands.
(Raubling) Bags, banana boxes, laundry baskets – many people from the region brought donations in kind to the fire station in Raubling over two days. More than 20 volunteers packed mainly food, bandaging materials, and hygiene items into moving boxes on a total of 23 pallets. With additional donations from the neighboring municipalities of Flintsbach and Neubeuern, as well as sleeping bags, hygiene packs, and blankets from the Federal Police Rosenheim, the aid action totaled 63 pallets.
On Tuesday, BTK drivers Peter Simcak and Jan Suchy set off with two fully loaded 40-ton trucks on the 1000-kilometer journey to Poland. A day later, the aid supplies were handed over to the Polish Red Cross 40 kilometers before the Ukrainian border in Przeworsk. The donations help refugees on site or are sent further to Lviv in Ukraine, a logistics hub for aid supplies with supply lines to affected areas.
Many hands from the region involved
“Many hands in our region have been involved in recent days to ensure that the donations find their way from Raubling into the hands of those who urgently need our help now. From the local collection action to the delivered aid package in Ukraine, this is a logistics chain that deeply impresses us and that we naturally support,” says BTK Managing Director Josef Heiß.
