Thanks to FRA-OS, imports at Frankfurt Airport are faster
28. March 2022From now on, Lufthansa Cargo customers on the cargo.one platform will benefit from an optimized booking process: Shippers can have the air waybill number required for booking assigned to them digitally and fully automatically. This eliminates the cumbersome manual management of air waybill stocks and numbers.
(Frankfurt/Main) Lufthansa Cargo is the exclusive launch partner for this new, digital, and free feature at cargo.one, which is available for all bookable capacities with Lufthansa Cargo. The air freight airline plans to offer the automated assignment of air waybill numbers for customer bookings on its own website in the second quarter as well.
“We are very pleased that we can offer our customers a more efficient booking process and an improved customer experience in the future. The fact that we are launching the automated assignment of air waybill numbers as the first air freight airline in collaboration with cargo.one once again demonstrates that Lufthansa Cargo is taking a pioneering role in the digitalization of the entire industry. Excellent customer orientation and modern digital sales are our top priorities,” said Ashwin Bhat, Chief Commercial Officer at Lufthansa Cargo.
Book Without AWB Number
Freight forwarders using cargo.one to book shipments with Lufthansa Cargo can now book immediately without having to enter a valid AWB number beforehand. By clicking the “Book now” button, the customer selects any offer from Lufthansa Cargo and subsequently receives a valid AWB number with the booking confirmation. The advantages of automated AWB assignment are obvious: the booking process is significantly faster, less error-prone, and much more user-friendly. Customers who still wish to manually enter an AWB number can continue to do so.
Introduction of Additional Features Planned
Additionally, Lufthansa Cargo is working on the introduction of two more features that customers will be able to use on the Lufthansa Cargo website this summer: Customers who do not wish to or cannot use the automated AWB assignment will have the option to have an air waybill stock sent to them digitally, which can then be used for future bookings. With the digital allocation, the assignment of air waybill stocks will only take a few seconds. The third feature allows the customer to view the previously digitally assigned and unused air waybills from their stock.
