29. March 2022The logistics division of the Würfel Group has built a new warehouse with an area of 2,000 sqm for its long-standing customer – a renowned plastic tank manufacturer – in Mahndorf (Bremen) within 10 months, which is already fully utilized. There, the final assembly and just-in-sequence delivery of tank systems for car production takes place.
(Bremerhaven) For its customer, Würfel is responsible for the final assembly and just-in-sequence delivery of tank systems for the car manufacturing of a neighboring automobile manufacturer at the Bremen site. “Expanding storage capacities as part of specific projects is part of our customer-oriented strategy, which is focused on close and long-term partnerships,” explains Hans-Jürgen Schlausch, Managing Director of Würfel Holding GmbH. The Würfel Group celebrated its 75th anniversary.
Ecological Criteria in Focus
The new hall features two ground-level gates and offers a usable height (UKB) of 7.50m. Ecological criteria were prioritized during planning and construction. For example, surface drainage is carried out naturally with underground trenches. Rainwater is collected in land depressions and then directed through the topsoil into a trench filled with gravel. From this intermediate storage, it seeps into the soil and is fed into the groundwater. The vegetated upper soil zone serves as a filter. A highly efficient gas central heating system with six individual heating units ensures a pleasant working climate.
Optimizing Complex Logistics Chains
The logistics sector is one of the rapidly expanding business fields of Würfel Holding. An increasing number of customers from industry and trade are discovering the advantages of outsourcing parts of their production and shipping processes to a flexible logistics partner. The Würfel Group provides comprehensive services at 17 locations to optimize complex logistics chains. The portfolio ranges from procurement, production, and distribution to after-sales.
