KION Group Issues Profit Warning for Fiscal Year 2022
5. April 2022TX Logistik AG is further expanding its intermodal connection between Leipzig and Verona. Starting on April 5, the railway logistics company, which is part of the Mercitalia Group (Gruppo FS Italiane), will operate eight instead of the previous six services per week between the two economic metropolises. Containers of all kinds can be loaded.
(Troisdorf) The reason for the expansion on the route between Leipzig and Verona is the currently high market demand for transport capacities on the rail. The starting and destination point in Leipzig is the DUSS terminal. In Italy, the terminal Sommacampagna-Sona, located slightly west of Verona, will be served. The route via the Brenner regularly also serves Hall in Tyrol, where the train makes a stop. All services are provided by TX Logistik independently and include not only traction but also the marketing of transport capacities.
Demand for intermodal transport remains strong
A train can accommodate up to 34 loading units – including bulk and tank containers as well as swap bodies and semi-trailers. Goods of all kinds are transported on the route, including vehicle parts, valuable materials, recycling and chemical products, as well as consumer goods.
Beyond the current service expansion, the demand from TX customers for intermodal transport remains strong. Therefore, the frequency of trains between Leipzig and Verona is expected to be further increased in the future.
