With “Jungheinrich Business Services Croatia,” the intralogistics expert is further expanding its expertise in the areas of digitalization and automation, meeting the growing demand for its digital products.
(Hamburg/Zagreb) Jungheinrich is intensively working on the megatrends of digitalization and automation in intralogistics and has now opened a new development hub for this purpose. At the new location in Zagreb, IT experts are developing innovative software and hardware related to mobile robots, control technology, and automated storage systems, aiming to create forward-looking solutions for the challenges of Industry 4.0. Digital products such as the Jungheinrich Warehouse Management System and the fleet management system will also be further developed and optimized here.
Attracting Talent for the Development Hub
The establishment of the location is an important building block for Jungheinrich to continue growing in the areas of digital products and automation solutions. Markus Skof, Vice President of Technical Digital Products at Jungheinrich Systemlösungen GmbH, stated: “As an academic and technical hotspot, Zagreb is the ideal location for our goal.” In addition to several universities, the capital has other higher education institutions that produce attractive talents and professionals. Jungheinrich aims to attract exactly these individuals for its development hub, which is to be continuously expanded in the coming years. By 2025, the company plans to triple the number of employees on-site. Site manager Helena Vojnovic also emphasizes the advantages of the new working world and an agile mindset. This creates a work environment that fosters creativity and enables innovations. Developers will also be offered modern office concepts and flexible working models with home office options.
Expansion of the International Network
At the same time, Jungheinrich is expanding its existing international network for digital development with the hub. In addition to Zagreb, this focuses on the European metropolises of Hamburg, Munich, Madrid, and Graz. To create valuable synergies, the Croatian team works closely with experts from other Jungheinrich software development locations, especially with Jungheinrich Systemlösungen in Graz.
Overall, the company is taking an important step in implementing its corporate strategy 2025+. In addition to expanding automation and digitalization, Jungheinrich aims to broaden its international presence.
